Surrender

Image
This is a poem that God gave me at the start of the new year 2022. The words came at a moment when I was feeling some fear about how unknown my plans were for that year. It was during that time of questioning that He gave me this poem with a promise that He would carry me through, come what may. As I read back over it now, I see how He has used both the desert and fruitful seasons of my life to draw my heart closer to His throughout the years. He truly is worthy of our surrender. Surrender A freedom found in letting go  A joy the world can never know. From shards into a masterpiece A heart of love that gently speaks.  I kneel before my Savior King  Place in His hands, my everything  A burden lifts up from my heart A purpose deep, He then imparts Why can't people understand?  Why don't they realize, they're part of His plan?  The brighter the fire, the deeper the trust  There's so much He's willing to give to us.  With tea...

Forgiveness

One of the ways God speaks to me is through visions. And sometimes He gives me a poem that corresponds to what He's shown me in that vision. One day, I was feeling discouraged and frustrated with how easily I slip back into old sin patterns that hurt my Savior's heart. I was sure that God was looking at me with deep disappointment over the ways I had failed Him. Guiding me in with a tender eye, You gently pour the glistening liquid over my head and dress that is soiled with mud. I am ashamed of how I look before You. You touch my chin and ask me to look in Your eyes. I'm worried that I'll see disappointment when I look up, but as I lift my gaze I see only tears of love shining in the beautiful eyes of my Savior. No disappointment, not even a hint of anger. Just deep love and c...

The Love of a Lover

Image
How often do we take the time to actually ponder the fact that we are loved by the Creator of the universe?! This spoken word was birthed one morning while I was gazing over the city of Kathmandu, Nepal. I asked God, "What is my purpose here?" And in that moment, He reminded me about the power of His love displayed in the Gospel. Slowly, words started to come to my head and I quickly transferred them into the journal in front of me. Within minutes, the entirety of this poem was completed and my heart was refreshed in the knowledge of my Savior's love. My prayer is what He shared with me that morning would rejuvenate your heart today. The Love of a Lover You love me. You truly love me. You could have anything Your heart could wish for, and You chose my heart. Your love for me is not passive, it's strong and fierce! You pursued me in the midst of the muck that surrounded me and the lies that threatened to drown me. I thought all I was worth was to be a servant...
