Touch Me Not
So this poem has a cool story. While I was at Ellerslie, a 5-week Bible Summit in Windsor Colorado, I heard a message titled, We will not Fear. The speaker shared a true story that happened during the time of the Roman Empire. There was a stag that was given a plaque around its neck with these words inscribed on it: "I belong to Caesar, Touch Me not." That stag had the freedom to travel anywhere in the kingdom and even wander into enemy territory, remaining safe because of who he belonged to. The same is true for us as Christians. You see, we belong to Jesus which means that we carry His Name. We have the knowledge that the enemy has no say over our lives except for what we choose to give him. And even in our hardest moments, he has no legal right over us, we are no longer his slaves. The session really impacted my heart and directly afterward, the Holy Spirit gave me this poem.
