Trust

    This poem came to me while I was preparing to go to Nepal on a mission trip. We had just been told that several people on our team were now unable to go. Both of the girls in question are dear friends of mine and I was very disappointed. As I was digesting this startling news, words started to form in my head and I quickly wrote them down in the journal in front of me. God taught me a lot about trust in that season and I am grateful that He is always open to listening to my questions especially when I don't understand the way He's working.


Trust


Trust is such a beautiful thing 

I can't understand it sometimes 

Like a journey still to travel 

Or a poem yet to rhyme


I get so disappointed 

When expectations aren't met 

My heart longs to trust You 

My mind wants to forget 


Where are You in the valley

Dreams smashed against reality 

Are You there to hold my hand?

Do You truly understand?


I know You see each piece 

In this puzzle of my life

When I feel lost, You guide me 

Keep my mind safe from strife


There is no place I'd rather be 

Than right here with You 

With my gaze fixed on Your face 

I trust You'll lead me through


For I know You call me Warrior 

So I place my HOPE in You 

Believing truth will set me free 

Make my perspective new


Every fear must bow to praise 

Worship breaks the chains 

Purpose in every choice made 

Power will then remain


Soaking in Your Word 

Resting in Your plan 

My mind is now at peace 

For I know You understand.

So this poem has a cool story. While I was at Ellerslie, a 5-week Bible Summit in Windsor Colorado, I heard a message titled, We will not Fear. The speaker shared a true story that happened during the time of the Roman Empire. There was a stag that was given a plaque around its neck with these words inscribed on it: "I belong to Caesar, Touch Me not." That stag had the freedom to travel anywhere in the kingdom and even wander into enemy territory, remaining safe because of who he belonged to. The same is true for us as Christians. You see, we belong to Jesus which means that we carry His Name. We have the knowledge that the enemy has no say over our lives except for what we choose to give him. Surrender

      This is a poem that God gave me at the start of the new year 2022. The words came at a moment when I was feeling some fear about how unknown my plans were for that year. It was during that time of questioning that He gave me this poem with a promise that He would carry me through, come what may. As I read back over it now, I see how He has used both the desert and fruitful seasons of my life to draw my heart closer to His throughout the years. He truly is worthy of our surrender. Surrender A freedom found in letting go  A joy the world can never know. The Meaning Behind the Name

Welcome! I invite you now into a very special part of my life. I pray you will be encouraged. So, what's the meaning behind the name? If you know me, you would agree that one of my favorite things in the world is waterfalls! I have climbed steep cliffs, hiked for miles, and put myself in some pretty precarious situations in order to come close to these wonders that God created!  Some of you may not know the underlying reason that I love waterfalls. Each time I see one, it reminds me of the deep, overflowing, incredible Love that God has for me and this world He designed. You see, we all live from something.
